That’s the first line of my LinkedIn bio, anyway. And it’s true. But, ironically, it doesn’t tell the whole story.
We are more than the work we do. We are more than the sum of what inspires us; but, those things are a significant portion of who we are, I think.
I love art and stories. Film and animation. Novels and comics. Video games and board games.
I love old things that are still useful. Simple machines and high-quality designs that were made to last.
I love technology, especially free and open source software projects and other digital tools that genuinely make life better.
I love nature, traveling and the freedom of waking up and choosing your destiny for the day. Especially if it involves choosing to be open to new and unexpected experiences.
I love learning new things. (That much is in my LinkedIn bio, too)
I could go on and on. And, frankly, I intend to. I have too many things to say about too many things to go on without saying them.
